LIKES FOR LOCALS INTERVIEW WITH THE SWEET ESCAPE FROM PORT ST.LUCIE, FL
L4L= Likes For Locals (Jimmy Fasulo) TSE= The Sweet EscapeL4L: Hey dudes how’s it going?
TSE: Good, we’re actually going to the radio station 103.1 the buzz for an interview tonight, I don’t know if you’re from Florida, but that’s pretty big news haha.
L4L: Nah I’m not from Florida, New Jersey haha.
TSE: Ah New Jersey, cool!L4L: So has the scene been good to you guys out there?
TSE: It’s mainly hardcore haha but we’ve been getting a lot of love lately, we’ve gotten a lot more fans through this competition, we jumped up so many likes just from posting too, got a lot of posts from people saying they love us haha.
L4L: What’s the competition you were in?TSE: We WERE in the competition for a music video, but we unfortunately lost it.
L4L: Yeah there’s always more though hahaTSE: Yeah dude yeah, hopefully we’ll win the next one.
L4L: What do you think sets you apart from everyone else in your scene?
TSE: Well we try to be as professional as we can, even before we get signed, like, we use correct grammar (laughs) and use all the proper equipment and all that good stuff, we also play way different music than anyone else around here. There aren’t many bands to begin with, but majority of them sound the same, we like to change it up. However, I think the biggest thing we have is our fan connection, when someone comes to our page and says they like us we all get on our personal accounts and say what’s up and talk to em and try to get to know them and keep in touch, we don’t go “Oh cool thanks for liking our music!” Then never talk to them again haha, we call our whole fan base our family.
L4L: Like a fanily? hahahaTSE: Fanily? That’s a good word for it haha
L4L: That’s good, good fan relations is something most bands lack, so are there any big plans in the works for you guys, like as far as an album/tour?TSE: We’re actually gonna start a kickstarter account to try to raise money to record our stuff we’ve had for a while, hopefully that’ll help us out. As far as touring, there’s nothing right now, just doing a lot of stuff to get our name out there, so we’re waiting to get our name out more, and we need to get a van/trailer haha. We have like no money to do that stuff. It’s weird for us though as far as getting our name out because we always play with heavy bands which we don’t really fit with, if we wanna play with our genre we gotta go like an hour away.
L4L: Well if you didn’t get to put your name out a lot how did you get on the buzz?TSE: They had a poll on their website and we signed up, and we got contacted before we even got far in the poll saying that they liked our stuff like 2 days later asking to put our song on his show and asked to do an interview, and play acoustically on the show.
L4L: So basically you just skipped the poll all together? That’s pretty impressive hahaTSE: Yeah ahaha, it was really really cool, there were around 100 bands in that poll, but we were considered good enough by them to just have us on without the poll, so it’s like a legit interview because we earned it as apposed to just being there because we won a competition. Oh and thanks for this interview by the way, it’s really gonna help us expand out of Florida haha, L4L is really helpful for local bands, we appreciate it.
